the most magical day of our lives

Dear Nicci and Sophie,

Where do we begin? Alex and I cannot thank you enough for everything you did for us in preparation for and on our wedding day.

It truly was the most magical day of our lives, and we couldn’t have wished for a nicer team to have been there with us.

From start to finish Home Gurr’own has been exceptional. Nicci, from the first time I discovered your website, then confirmed with our first conversation I knew Alex and I discovered the caterer for us. (You even grew up on our road! is that fate or what!).

Your attention to detail is impeccable. Incredibly reassuring for a control freak, but there was no need to stress because you guys had this 110%. After tasting the super scrummy table of food at our tasting, and enjoying those flowers scattered around the table (still got them!) (and loving the farm tour), we knew we were in for something special but there was no way we could have imagined how special it was going to be.

Every bite of food at the wedding was up there with some of the best, most delicious food we have every tasted. We couldn’t have dreamed or wished for more.

All our guest were blown away and my dad hasn’t stopped talking about the lamb and how you cooked it in the aga Nicci. He is also a man who doesn’t normally like beany salads, but he raved about the edamame bean salad, and then went out to try and replicate it for a dinner party a week later! The lamb, the asparagus and truffle tart, the salads, yum yum yum, just the best, and then there was the lemon and rhubarb pavlova. To be honest I’m not sure where to begin with this. It utterly blew my Mind! Hands down, no doubt in my mind, the best dessert I have ever eaten (knocking the tart it was based on off the top spot!). Zingy and rhubarby, pure heaven and looked absolutely stunning.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your hard work and the team put into creating and delivering our dream wedding menu. It was the best meal of our lives. You really are a very talented chef Nicci.

This takes me onto the planning side of things and the softer skills Home Gurr’own has in bucket falls. Sophie your planning and coordination during the day was impeccable, everything ran so smoothly despite the fact that we sat down to eat far far later than planned. (Sorry Nicci). There was literally no stress, (Bar the panic in the morning with my shoes not having enough buckle holes! What an idiot! Thank you for coming to my rescue Sophie. And you always had such a big smile on your face. With everything changing in the lead up to the wedding you were both incredibly accommodating and flexible and we really really cannot thank you enough for this. Your support and guidance was pivotal and truly allowed our wedding day to take place and flourish into a spectacular day it was.

Please do pass our thanks and gratitude onto Sophie and Grace for their part in preparing and delivering our wedding day. They were both fab.

We are both buzzing with anticipation and excitement about getting to have another celebration in July 2023. This year was definitely our wedding (Just the best day) but 2023 will be a long excited opportunity to celebrate with our extended family and friends. We can’t wait to start planning this with you in due course and look forward to catching up with all your activity over the summer, but until then we wish you and all your team the very best and hope you are having a wonderful summer and finding time to relax.
